• Lesbian Vampire: Much to the dismay of Cynthia, she isn't one.
• Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Ange and Bernd, especially in flashbacks.
• Our Vampires Are Different: She's a 'halfer', a vampire created via drinking the blood of another strong vampire rather than a bite, which only makes one an inferior 'quarter'. Most of the halfers eventually go insane from it, but she seems to overcome it eventually. She does have episodes of mania and delusion, though... until it's revealed that these are not delusions...

Bernd

The male protagonist.

• Dhampyr: He is one, which implies his mother was a vampire since his father clearly isn't, though he and his father hail from a long lineage of mostly-human vampire hunters which was started by a vampire founder.
• Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Ange and Bernd, especially in flashbacks.
• Our Vampires Are Different: He becomes a halfer in the Golden Ending. Since he was already a Dhampyr, he won't run into the issue of potentially going insane from his body rejecting the vampire blood.
• Tsundere: Toward Ange, his Love Interest, but he Cannot Spit It Out for a long time.

Cynthia

A friend of Ange and not-quite-friend to Bernd, with whom she had a lot of confrontations before she was killed.

• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She's nice only to Ange, but rude to everyone else, especially Bernd.
• Cute Ghost Girl: She's a very pretty ghost girl and quite friendly most of the time, at least toward Ange. Then she starts behaving a lot more like a Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl would and is covered in blood.
• Incompatible Orientation: Cynthia is lesbian but Ange is straight, much to the former's dismay.
  • Also, the Cynthia Ending reveals she was bethroted to Bernd before she died.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Things go notably south once she starts being covered in blood and later having bloodshot eyes to match.
• Romantic Two-Girl Friendship: She wants to go into a relationship of this nature, and possibly more, with Ange.

• Blatant Lies: He's definitely just the narrator and has no relation to the story itself.
• Our Vampires Are Different: He's a pure-blood and therefore an incredibly powerful, ancient vampire who can make minions/new vampires and seems to have some affinity for necromancy, a trait he passes to Ange, whom he turned one year before the story starts.
• Really 700 Years Old/Time Abyss: He reveals in the Sunday School that despite looking like 30, that number is clearly a few digits off.
